Rainbow regatta chicago 2019

We brought together people from 3 states, with diverse sailing backgrounds.  Some had never been on a boat, some had spent most of their life on boats. Others had never done a race, and some were seasoned Mac teams. We had some who had never been to a yacht club, while others were club officers. Some knew their vessel tip to stern, and others were still learning their rigging.

We had 15 boats registered to start the race, ranging in size from 27' to over 40'. Of those, 3 finished the race. Sadly, just as our fleet was rounding the crib, the wind died! Many dropped out, those who did stay had their skills and vessels tested in the extreme light air.
